Describe how to correctly prepare a wet mount of an onion cell?
In order to correctly prepare a wet mount for an onion cell, you first need to take a small piece of an onion and gently split it in half. If you do this correctly, you should get a film-like layer that is transparent. You take this layer, put it on a slide, and apply a drop or two of water and do your your best to submerge it. You may need to use a stain, usually iodine, as well. Finally, place a cover slip over your onion specimen, and your wet mount is ready to be used!
